QR Codes (and other 2D Barcodes)

A QR code links people to a particular website or webpage. When a person scans a QR Code with their smartphone, their smartphone will be directed to a particular website (or webpage). QR Codes are a popular way to advertise a new product or service. QR Codes can often be seen in magazines or on business cards, posters, billboards etc.

The “QR Code” (Quick Response Code) is one of the most popular types of 2D barcode. QR Code at is most commonly used to connect a person to a particular website or webpage (i.e. when someone scans a QR Code using their mobile phone, the browser in their phone will be directed to a specific website address).

QR Code Standard

To ensure your physical QR code has a longer life span, we recommend programming your QR code with a QR redirect. This allows you to redirect your QR code to different links in the future, multiple times, without changing the physical QR code. It also allows you to monitor traffic from the QR code. Watch the video here that explains this in more detail.

Other

We can produce many other types of QR Codes at your request, including the following: Make a Phone Call; Send an Email or SMS; Facebook Profiles (or Likes); Linkedin Profiles (or Share); Twitter Profiles; Android Market Publisher/Package, or Wi-Fi Access Points.

⇑ QR Code Size

If a QR Code is printed onto a business card, it can be fairly small (e.g. 3 or 4 cm). However, if a QR Code is going to go on a billboard or poster – and people are going to scan it from a distance – then it will need to be much bigger (e.g. 1 meter wide). Let us know how big your QR Code needs to be when making your order.

NOTE: If there is a lot of data contained in your QR Code (e.g. lots of text, or a long URL address), the QR Code will need to be larger to scan well. If your QR Code contains a long website URL address, you can shorten it by using a URL shortener (e.g. goo.gl).

After you receive your QR Code, please test it to make sure it works well (and let us know if you’re having any problems). You can re-size it if necessary.

QR Codes are the most common type of 2D Code we sell. However we can produce many other types of 2D Code at your request.
